  1. Today I underwent surgery for my wife in the knee. A detailed replacement by the surgeon at Medcare Orthopedic Hospital. Dr. Paul McNimara, a British national. In fact, he showed me his gentle treatment, frequent visits and great interest. In fact, I did not see a doctor like him with high morals, Spine and joints 25 years experience
I and I recommend to visit him, Dr. Paul McNimara

  6. Nurse and doctor Paul were outstanding. Very professional and caring. I was treated like royalty.

  7. I started having pain in my left knee and I visited the doctor for a check-up. I chose him because of his qualifications and expertise. He proved to be very knowledgeable, supportive, friendly, and very responsive/reachable. He checked my knee and diagnosed that the meniscus might be a bit torn. He recommended an MRI to make sure and the result came as expected. He did a small surgery and prescribed physio therapy sessions. I am still recovering and I am feeling much better now.

    Thank you Doctor Paul.

  8. I had a ski accident 20;years ago and had two othroscopys one 20;years ago and the second 10 years ago. Over the last 10years my left knee has deteriorated and I decided that at 67 I needed to do something. I am CEO of a large Engineering company so I approached this as a project and researched suitable doctors. I settled on Dr.Paul For two reasons, I felt he was the correct age with a good balance of experience but young enough to have updated techniques.
This has proven to be the correct choice as I had a total knee replacement using the advised spinal block and was walking 2hrs after the surgery and then walking without crutches 24hrs after the surgery. I cannot recommend Paul and his surgical team highly enough they were perfect in every way, from initial consultation to final results Paul many many thanks. Should I ever need surgery on knees or hips in future I will travel back to Dubai to have it done by Paul and will strongly recommend him to all my friends and clients, who no doubt will ask me after my knee replacement. If you want to contact me I am willing to give you personal feedback . Bill McDougall 0506449243

  9. Dr. Paul Macnamara is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at MOSH. That is already indicative of his expertise. Add to that characteristics like being an upbeat, positive, always reachable, sensitive to patients” needs doctor, and the recipe for success is complete. I had my 2nd hipreplacement on 24 June 2018, 10 years after the previous one. I found the recovery a bit slower and more difficult. (I,m afraid of addiction issues and had little problems like light-headedness,etc.) at 71 years. BUT I started walking the next morning after the op. with ease. After that morn. I’d never used a crutch again. I especially appreciated dr. Paul”s Whats App contact. He answered my every question & concern, even while being on holiday in the UK himself. Dr. Paul is the best. His nurse Zuni Binu is equally kind, good and professional. Cudos to her also. 05096454748 (we leave end Aug.)

  11. I am 60years old and was advised when retiring from competitive squash at age 28 that a new hip was required. Back in those days, the advice given was to wait as long as possible and thus avoid having it done twice. Fortunately, technology has moved on but my stubborn resistance remained. I did resort to an injection under general anaesthetic ten years ago to support my resistance, despite the chorus of advice from my wife and children to get it looked at I waited until the discomfort was so great there was no other choice than to get it looked at.
I attended a consultation with Dr Paul Macnamara who I found an absolute delight to speak to, he immediately instilled a confidence I did not expect. Upon examination of my X-rays, the reason for my discomfort was all too obvious. The hip was destroyed, zero cartilage and cysts in the joint. I confess to feeling extremely stupid for not heeding the advice of my nearest and dearest and suddenly felt the need to get it done now and put an end to the suffering.
Dr Paul was due to go on holiday a week later so I would have to wait until September. I told Dr Paul that the thought of having to endure even one more week was unthinkable not to mention over a month.
Dr Paul and his team investigated the possibility of fitting me in at the weekend and in the meantime, I was given all of the necessary screening. Fortunately for me, everyone required agreed to be available.
The quality of the service from each of the twelve individuals was absolutely first class. The depth of information shared in each consultation extremely impressive.
Finally, the procedure itself for which I remained conscious was again so professional, every thought I had was addressed before I had a chance to speak. It was not traumatic as I feared but felt very calm from start to finish.
Operation complete and off to ICU fully awake. Two hours later and off to a very comfortable private room. By the end of the day I was up and standing, two days later having completed several laps of the floor and a couple of climbs up the stairs I am getting ready to go home.
During the past two days, Dr Paul and his entire team have provided the highest level of intensive care to assist in my rehabilitation.
I can say the past two days have been painless and actually enjoyable, why I waited so long now seems ridiculous and to all of you reading this in discomfort my advice is to book a consultancy with Dr Paul Macnamara and his team right now you will not regret it.
I would like to say a huge thank you to Dr Paul for an incredible job in terms of his surgical skills together with the incredible team surrounding him.
    Fabulous job.
If anyone would like a reference I would be happy to speak to you, 0567433214, Stephen Gibson

  12. The doctor always takes time with me, he answers all my questions and never seems to be in a rush to move on to the next patient. I always feel completely satisfied after my appointment. There are no unanswered questions, doubts, or confusion. If anyone wants my advice about knees Doctors I would definitely recommend Dr Paul . Thank you for treating me

  13. I had knee replacement done by Paul in July last year, I feel fantastic am currently on holiday in South Africa and have played 8 rounds of golf, walked miles on beach and feel better than I have in years. I am 68 and looking forward to active participation in golf and walking

  14. Recommendation for Dr. Paul Macnamara,
    Medicare Orthopaedics & Spine Hospital,
    Dubai.

    To Whom It May Concern

I am overwhelmed and stunned by the speedy execution of the surgical operation carried out on my Hip by Dr. Paul Macnamara.

I want to state that my contact with Medcare Orthopedic and Spine Hospital in Dubai was just incidental. This is because visiting the hospital was not part of my itinerary before i left Nigeria.

On my first day at the hospital, the reception was great even though I had my reservation to either do the operation or not . But the assurance given by Dr. Paul Macnamara and his conviction that the operation will be done without any hitch or problem whatsoever was what made me to cave in.

Truth to his words, he did the operation successfully and professionally too.

I had spoken with a few doctors whom I had contact with both within and outside the shore of Nigeria, my home country, before my contact with Medcare Orthopedic and Spine Hospital .

Dr. Macnamara words of assurance and encouragement did the magic .

In my rating therefore, I want to state without mincing words that he has done so much to be considered as one of the best surgeon in the world. He gave me hope where there was none. He rekindled my spirit . He made me to do the operation and this was done effortlessly contrary to my early position and thought. He promised that I will walk within two days of the operation and like a flash in the pan, it came to pass and now am standing on my feet.

I therefore recommend him to anyone in my state of health. He is in my opinion and experience one of the best Orthopedic Doctor in Hip replacement all over the world.

I strongly recommend him to anyone who might be suffering from Hip strain.

  15. I went to consult Dr. Paul after I had injured my left knee during a volley ball match. He was quick to diagnose an unstable knee and recommended me to go for an MRI and X-ray, thereby confirming that I had a torn ACL. He had put forward the available options in front of me, either to live with it or to have it reconstructed and explained the pros and cons of both the choices. He also explained that the ACL was torn earlier and was not torn during the recent accident, but I had sprained my MCL during this time from which I was suffering pain. With my preferences in life I have decided to proceed with ACL reconstruction.
Although I had gained complete confidence in Dr. Paul with couple of interactions we had, and in the procedure, he follows, I’ ve decided to challenge my choice of the surgeon and consulted few others and finally decided to proceed with Dr. Paul with complete conviction.
I can still remember when I was awakened from anesthesia after the surgery I thanked God and I was looking at Dr. Paul trying to express my gratitude and happiness to him for helping me to take this step for many more stable steps in future.
Today as I sit in my bed exactly after a good month from the day of surgery I could say, I am as happy as I was the first day. I am very pleased with the experience, the surgery and recovery, I believe it cannot be less painful. I am happy of the fact that even after the surgery, my Doctor is very much concerned about who is doing my therapy and keen in knowing how things are advancing. That is what I call sincerity, commitment and ownership. Seeing him is half relief, very energetic, positive minded and enthusiastic personality.
Thanks Doctor Paul and may God bless you, I sincerely pray you could help more people who need assistance.

  16. I had a knee surgery with Dr. Paul Macnamara, his a true professional who takes care of his patient. I didn’t know what to expect prior to surgery, I was really nervous but Dr.Paul reassured me and everything went well. I had many visits after the surgery with Dr.Paul for follow up because he cares about his Patient and he wants to make sure everything went as planned.
I would definitely recommend Dr. Paul Macnamara if you have any issues with the knee.

Once again thank you very much Dr. Paul

  17. I had an ACL reconstruction last week and found Dr Paul to be amazing from initial consultation to recovery. He was eager for me to gain as much extension as possible soon after the surgery which I feel has helped me to recover quickly. Being part of a contact sports team, I have quite a few friends who have had the same surgery and they are all surprised to see how quickly I’m back on my feet with very little swelling. I’d highly recommend Dr Paul. I was initially quite nervous about it all but he made me feel at ease and now I’m glad that I had it done. Thanks Dr Paul!

  18. Now 5 months after my hip replacement in February 2019 by Dr Paul Macnamara at Medcare Orthopaedic Hospital in Dubai, I would like to convey my appreciation of the treatment given to me by Dr Paul and the team at Medcare. Aged 72, and after some physio and regular exercise, my walking is back to normal – minus the previous.pain. For me (and my wife) it was significant that Dr Paul is UK – trained, experienced in UK and Canada, and with the skills and ethics that go with that background. Another great plus was Dr Paul’s care in explaining the issues and in readily addressing any concerns that I raised, before the surgery and in the following weeks. After hearing of my experience, an acquaintance has since had successful hip replacement by Dr Paul, and I do not hesitate to repeat my positive views to anyone else who might need such treatment. I’m British, and appreciate a sense of humour – that’s there as well from Dr Paul – which has to be good for any patient! Many thanks to Dr Paul, Nurse Suny and the team!

  19. After suffering with my left Knee for the last couple of years and watching my Husband have a fantastically successful knee replacement done by Dr Paul. MacNamara I approached him for an assessment of my knee problems he was very thorough and l had physio to see if there would be improvement, though there was some temporary improvement after a few months I decided to go ahead with a knee replacement done at Medicare Orthopaedic hospital
The Surgery was performed using a spinal block and I was up walking a couple of hours later. I left hospital two days later without needing crutches as a 67 year old I have been incredibly impressed by how the whole process has gone led of course by the excellent surgical skills of Dr Paul I can’t thank and recommend him enough..

  21. Dr. Paul did my ACL reconstruction end of January this year at Medcare Orthopedic & Spinal.

Needless to say that when living in Dubai you need at least a second opinion on orthopedic injuries. I had consultations with four doctors, Dr. Paul being the third about 3 weeks after the injury. And I knew I would come back to him already then. I at once felt that I was in safe hands with Dr. Paul, who was so easy-going, understanding, supporting, extremely professional with great working ethics, vast experience and great sense of humor on top of that (I confess, we laugh through half of each appointment 😊). For me it was important that my doctor would understand my personal needs and ambitions, that’s why I felt some sort of connection from the start. I appreciated his personalized approach – being an athletic and very active person, ACL reconstruction was an extremely important step for me, I wanted to get back to contact sports without any limits in my body functionality – Dr. Paul explained me all options and details of reconstruction, rehab protocols, their milestones and how that’d apply to my particular case and my return to sports, shared some similar stories and examples, he indeed gave me confidence and made this decision so easy for me.

I don’t want to sound mean, but most doctors here would gladly operate you literally right after the check up, no matter what your condition is (one even tried to schedule me as soon as I left the clinic). But not Dr. Paul, and I am so glad to have met the doctor who put my interests in the first place. He sent me back for prehab for a couple of weeks to work on my hamstrings (which was used for a graft) and quads, and only scheduled the surgery when he was happy with the result. Getting maximum strength in muscles before reconstruction was also meant to make (and actually made) my rehab faster and easier.

Surgery didn’t take long (and btw big thanks for the video!), Dr. Paul came to see me as soon as I woke up. I was discharged the same afternoon and walked out on two crutches. I was able to drive the next day (surgery was on the left knee so driving is possible as soon as you figure out how to comfortably get in and out of car). I did not go through any pain, even during the first days after the surgery. Rehab and physio started immediately, together with regular check ups and follow ups of Dr. Paul. He signed me up for a great therapist as well who got me off the crutches in a couple of weeks and back to running by week 10. I am on 25 weeks post-surgery now, and I feel great! My knee feels good and stable, flexibility is back. I recovered almost all of my lost muscle weight by now. I am back to trainings, and my kicks will soon be as strong as they used to be. My scars are barely visible – even my mom didn’t notice them. I could not be happier! Don’t get me wrong, surgery is not the end of story – rehab requires a helluva lot of effort, but having great professional guidance, support and motivation through this journey is the most crucial part of it. I got it all, I couldn’t wish for a better doctor. And he couldn’t send me a better therapist. I am really grateful for the great job Dr. Paul did on me, and I would not hesitate to recommend him. Yet, I’ll surely try to never tear my ACLs again 😊

  22. I am writing these few words to express my gratitude to Dr Paul Macnamara.
After my knee injury, I knew that things were serious: I have heard the pop, my interior ligament was completely torn and Dr Paul confirmed that I needed an ACL surgery… My knee was vey unstable and the pain was omnipresent.

Dr Paul managed to get me back on my feet in two months!
I am still undergoing Physiotherapy and still need to go through the 9 month recovery period before I can get back to doing the activities I want, However, I can feel my knee getting stronger everyday,

Dr. Paul was very supportive, explained to me everything I needed to know about the ACL surgery, and did amazing job on my knee. I barely can see the effect of the surgery, it’s almost like nothing happened.

The follow ups have been very helpful and Dr. Paul have been very present and reassuring throughout the whole process.
I am really happy with the result and highly recommend Dr. Paul for that matter,

  24. I had a surgery of hip replacement by doctor Mc Namara on May 2018 (right side only) . Before, during and after the surgery he was simply amazing. I was able to walk after a couple of hours from surgery. He also motivated me to pay max attention for physio therapy and made things in order I got the best physio therapy team.
I back to my life doing the most of reccomanded sport.
    Thanks forvever big doct!
